Ratu Bagus’ Mission in Facing the Food Crisis

In recent months, Gde/Jro Lanang has been intensely encouraging us to participate in training and activities related to agriculture, animal husbandry, and fishing. About three years ago, Gde/Jro Lanang had already presented this idea, but it had not yet received a response from us. As time went by, through constant shaking and sharing, we began to understand his intentions and goals. Therefore, Gde/Jro Lanang and us agreed on these activities.

The world order will change and we who are part of it must also change. “Those who are not prepared for change will be crushed and left behind,” was Gde/Jro Lanang’s important message. Based on this shared intention, the Sidha Ayu community or Paguyuban Sidha Ayu was formed. The purpose of this community is to serve as a shared platform for developing each member’s potential and abilities, tailored to local conditions regarding what can be done to anticipate the coming crisis.

Paguyuban is not a new group that has broken away from the Foundation (Yayasan) and Ashram in Muncan, as some people think, but more specifically a place for us who have different professional backgrounds and abilities, especially those who are still economically disadvantaged. Ratu Bagus, through Gde/Jro Lanang, wants to see his children healthy in body and spirit, as well as prosperous. This has been Ratu Bagus’s aspiration since long ago, so various efforts have been made to ensure the success of the disciples.

Currently, several activities have been carried out at Ashram Buruan, such as lobster farming, fishing, and hydroponic vegetable cultivation. A question that is often asked is, why Ashram Buruan and not Ashram Muncan?

The Buruan Ashram is strategically located because it is quite close to most of Ratu’s disciples in the surrounding area. The activities carried out at the Buruan Ashram require intense attention and constant supervision, so that we can manage our work schedules. In addition, because of its proximity, we can go directly to the Buruan Ashram after work. So, why do Ba;inese disciples from outside rarely come to Ashram Muncan and instead focus more on development at Ashram Buruan? This answer should be sufficient to address that question, so that in the future there will be no mutual suspicion or sentimentality. Spirituality must be rich in both the spiritual and physical realms, especially concerning economics. Both should be balanced.

With minimal capital from each member, but with a spirit of togetherness and kinship, the activities were finally able to begin. This was inseparable from the great attention of Gde/Jro Lanang, who initiated and made donations. Then, every month, the disciples agreed to contribute as much money as they could for the continuity of activities at the Buruan Ashram, not out of obligation, but out of awareness and sincerity. The amount is not the measure; rather, sincere and genuine intentions are the foundation for living a spiritual life.

Next, in handling this activity, we arranged a schedule so that every day someone would be in charge of the project. This was not just a matter of focusing on the project, but more importantly, we were able to perform shaking together with the others who were on duty that day. “Shaking is the most important thing. Don’t let this project make you forget about shaking.” That was Gde/Jro Lanang’s message when he gave a motivational speech after the shaking activity.
